Introducing Agency 29’s Senior Strategic Account Manager, Jenny Stockdale

Jenny Stockdale has joined Agency 29 as Senior Strategic Account Manager to help clarify our clients’ vision, shape smart strategies, and keep things running smoothly from kickoff to launch and beyond.

Strategic thinker. Bridge builder. Go-to partner when things get complex (or just really exciting).

Jenny brings a deep understanding of food, beverage, and ag brands, honed through years in marketing, communications, and creative leadership roles.  She earned her stripes at Cornell CALS and by co-founding a creative agency out West.

She’s a listener first, a problem-solver always, and she knows how to ask the questions that move the work forward. If your brand needs a partner who gets the big picture but never loses sight of the details, you’ll be glad she’s on your team.

Also, if you ever want to talk music, thin mints, or pretty tea packaging, she’s your person.

To get to know the person behind the strategy, we sat down with Jenny to discuss her passion for purpose-driven brands, her secret to success, and, of course, snacks.

What drew you to the role of Senior Strategic Account Manager at Agency 29?

I’ve always been passionate about storytelling that moves the needle for mission-driven brands. Agency 29’s focus on food, beverage, and agriculture felt like home. These are industries I’ve championed for years. Plus, the core values of collaboration, resilience, and having fun? That’s exactly how I like to work.

Any past roles, education, or experiences that especially shaped how you work today?

I led marketing and communications at Cornell CALS, where I managed brand awareness projects and built campaigns that translated complex research into compelling narratives. Before that, I worked in higher ed, entertainment, hospitality, and even co-founded a small creative agency on the West Coast. All those experiences have shaped me in different ways, but time as a journalist taught me the power of asking the right questions–something I still rely on every day.

What does a Senior Strategic Account Manager actually do?

In short: I’m the bridge between big ideas and real results. I help clients clarify their goals, shape strategies, and collaborate with our creative team to bring those plans to life. One surprise? I spend a lot of time listening. I’ve learned that sometimes the best strategy starts with understanding what’s not being said.

How does your role support both clients and internal teams?

For clients, I’m their go-to partner, keeping projects on track and making sure their brand vision shines. For our team, I translate client needs into clear, actionable plans so creatives can do what they do best.

I suppose I’m a little like a farm manager during harvest. I’m planning the work, keeping everyone aligned, and jumping in to pick when the pace picks up. I also aspire to keep the internal meme game strong.

Do you have a guiding philosophy or rule of thumb when it comes to client relationships?

A great client relationship feels like a partnership, not a transaction. My rule of thumb: listen first, advise second. When clients trust you enough to call before making a big decision, you know you’ve built one.

When you’re not at the computer, where would we find you?

You’ll find me sneaking away on a date night with my husband at a local Finger Lakes restaurant, playing music at venues around Ithaca, or spending lots of family fun time with our two kiddos.

Lastly, what’s your go-to coffee (or tea) order and what snack should we keep stocked in the break room for you?

My go-to coffee is: YES. All kinds, most of the day, and way more often than is good or necessary for me. I also support adding any state of milk to my coffee – frothy, liquid, whipped or otherwise. I’m equally in love with tea, with a preference for Good Earth cinnamon tea and whatever brand of turmeric-ginger has the loveliest packaging in the tea aisle. There will also forever be a place in my heart for Girl Scouts Thin Mint cookies.

From big-picture thinking to small-but-mighty details, Jenny’s already making things better around here. We can’t wait for you to meet her, whether it’s on a kickoff call, in your inbox, or over coffee (yes, with milk, any kind).
