New York Made

New York Kitchen in Canandaigua, NY, celebrates the rich bounty of New York State through food, craft beverages, and immersive experiences. From cooking classes and culinary events to a Tasting Room brimming with 100% locally sourced wines, beers, and spirits, the organization champions local producers and inspires creativity.

But even this regional treasure faced a major hurdle: visibility. New York Kitchen needed to stand out as a uniquely New York destination and connect with audiences who could embrace its mission and offerings.

In our latest case study, we explore how we tackled this challenge head-on, crafting a campaign to amplify New York Kitchen’s story, boost awareness, and drive engagement.

Inspo From Maureen

You know that end-of-year push to close your goal? Maybe it’s a financial goal for your company or department. Maybe it’s a personal one for your family – but it’s the deadline that gives us the rush to finish strong.

One of my favorite books is The 12-Week Year by Brian P. Moran. It shifted my end-of-year mindset to a quarterly one. I now break all of my goals up into 3-month sections and chip away at them day by day.

My current quarterly goals are related to business development and writing my first book.

Imagine what happens when that end-of-year push to meet a goal gets broken down into quarters.

You get what you focus on.

CYBER BLACK FRIDAY

Despite the disarray of your local Target’s shelves, Black Friday was quiet in comparison to the shopping mania of previous years. Reuters reports that ā€œsales at brick-and-mortar stores grew just 0.7% year-over-yearā€. Seems Americans are taking their shopping online more than ever with a big 14.6% jump in eCommerce sales, according to Mastercard SpendingPulse.

šŸ›« BLUE SKIES AHEAD

While X has been slowly melting down into a heaping hot mess, apps like Threads, Mastodon, and Bluesky have been quietly sidling into the frame. The former is a Meta product, one you can’t avoid on your Instagram doom scroll. Mastodon has been around for ages, though you may not have heard of it (definitely a ā›” red flag there). But Bluesky Social seems to be slowly and surely taking off, with many of the disaffected journalists who once tweeted up a storm heading to that platform.
