Stock Ainât Serving
Ah, those glory days of old, when we could pull any old photo off Pixabay and share it to our socials, pop it in an Annual Report, and splash it across our website. And all anyone ever thought was, gee, those folks look almost unnaturally happy. Yep, that was the worst of it.
But it isnât 2014, Grandma.
More and more, weâre leading these asset-building endeavors, managing the production, logistics, talent, and locations to create successful video and photo projects. And weâre honestly relieved because audiences love seeing true, authentic faces in videos and photos across all platforms.

Inspo From Olivia
Weâve all heard the common adage, âan ounce of prevention is worth a pound of cure.â But when it comes to video and photography, my motto is, âan hour of pre-production is worth 4 hours of post-productionâ.Â
As you prepare for your brandâs moment in the spotlight, here are my top three tips for a successful shoot:Â
1. Create Your Pre-Production Outline
My go-to tools are: a creative brief, storyboard, shot-list, any needed scripts or interview questions, and visual style references
2. Get Everyone on the Same Page
Create a ârun-of-showâ for the day of the shoot which outlines schedule, location, talent, shots, and a list of roles with contact information.Â
3. Embrace the Unknown
As much as we plan ahead, there are always unforeseen elements â thatâs life! Embrace twists and turns with quick thinking and a âyes, andâ mentality.
You got this!Â

ALCOHOL ADS ON TIKTOK
While TikTokâs branded content policies still prohibit alcohol, the channel opened up advertising to alcohol brands this summer. Previously, The Distilled Spirits Council of the United States (DISCUS) had cautioned against âeven posting on platforms where there could be young audiencesâ. And while theyâve revised their stance, and despite the viral success of brands like Josh Cellars, the ads are seeing mixed results.

FOOD, FOOTBALL, AND THE KELCE BROTHERS
The 2024 NFL season has kicked off and with it, all the food marketing. The Kelce Brothers are marketing royalty these days (Maureen has Travis on her Fantasy team so letâs hope that Travis is also TE royalty) as the faces of food brands like General Mills and Buffalo Wild Wings. But theyâre not the only ones â Coke Zero is going hard for college football fans, Celsius has tapped six college football stars to rep their brand and Texas Longhorns quarterback Quinn Ewers has signed with Dr Pepper to star in the Fansville commercial series.
