Recently we’ve had the treat of working with a lot of clients on some really cool cross-media projects, and it has us thinking…if every project were like a boxing match, we wouldn’t want to just be there suggesting the right gloves. We’d want to provide the best coaching, social media hype, AND be there for the match-winning knockout. Because we know the best boxers have a team in their corner rooting for them the whole way – before, during, and after the match.

PMD Foundation Smile-A-Thon for Rare Disease Day 2022

“Rare Disease Day is the globally-coordinated movement on rare diseases, working towards equity in social opportunity, healthcare, and access to diagnosis and therapies for people living with a rare disease.” [source] This year, we worked with the PMD Foundation to hold a Smile-A-Thon inspired by the PMD and PMLD kids – when they smile, it lights up the room. We shared their light with the rest of the world to build awareness of PMD and PMLD for Rare Disease Day.

We had participation from 42 families from 9 countries and a total of 144 photos. On the day, their smiles lit up Instagram, Twitter, LinkedIn, and Facebook using the hashtag #RareDiseaseDaySmile

Maureen’s Expo West Takeaways

She returned inspired (and exhausted), after learning about opportunities and innovations in the food and beverage spheres at the 2022 Natural Products Expo West in sunny California. Here are Maureen’s top five takeaways:

– Functional foods + beverages are significantly on the rise.

– Trending core ingredients that stood out: chickpeas + mushrooms.

– Innovation always wins! Consumers and retailers want new and different.

– Lots of keto/gluten-free.

– The regenerative trend didn’t seem as widespread as I expected.
