Growing a Garden-Based Business

Crazy Daisies Flowers and Garden Cafe is a family-run business located in Onondaga, NY. Their Garden Center has six greenhouses that are home to a wide variety of annuals, perennials, vegetables, herbs, house plants, and more. The Garden Cafe mixes the family’s love for agriculture with their love for food to create a small yet flavorful menu with many of the ingredients grown on-site.

The team at Crazy Daisies had watched their business evolve from a simple greenhouse to a 360-degree garden experience. They approached Agency 29 to ensure their brand communications supported that evolution.

The Challenge

Biodiversity isn’t just for the greenhouse. Crazy Daisies’ clients range from young adults meeting friends for brunch to a genteel audience looking for a luxury luncheon with locally sourced meat and produce.

Brand communications needed to reach an alignment between the service and products that Crazy Daisies offered and what the audience expected of their visit, as well as become more accessible to folks researching their visit.

The Crazy Daisies team also wanted to become more collaborative by developing professional partnerships, increasing engagement on social media, and decreasing the seasonal fluctuations in sales and attendance.

How We Did It

To determine alignment, we analyzed the data points for Crazy Daisies marketing activities to determine actionable insights and make strategic recommendations.

We included an in-depth analysis of Google Analytics, email marketing, and social media marketing. We reviewed peers and competitors to determine the competitive landscape and create a high-level SWOT analysis. As Crazy Daisies moved forward in implementing our recommendations, we turned to the existing website. We designed and developed a new website to elevate their various events, the greenhouses, and the cafe.

We were able to build additional visual language to support the existing Crazy Daisies brand, as well. We developed an extended color palette and incorporated vintage botanical illustrations and whimsical typography.

With the website, we focused on the user experience through the creation of a robust events calendar that includes multiple viewing options and intuitive categorization. We also integrated an e-commerce shop for gift cards and merchandise. As an added bonus, we created a custom map that shows all that Crazy Daisies has to offer on site.

Collaborative Partnership

We cannot think of a better company we have worked alongside. What makes working with Agency 29 so special is that it is a genuine partnership. It is clear that they are also pushing for the success of our business. The creativity and flexibility is like no other!
